Hey guys, I hope you are all doing good! It’s been quite a long time since I posted something on the blog. I have been very busy travelling within Australia and while I was away I just wanted to enjoy my adventures at 100%. And to be entirely honest, I am gonna post less articles on the blog in the future. Not more than once a week but you can follow our trips on Instagram and Tumblr where I post daily. Anyway, here we are today with a brand new set of images we shot on my first getaway.
4 weeks ago I realized that I had been in Australia for 6 weeks already and that after 6 weeks I still had no jobs. Staying in Melbourne waiting for my phone to ring in the hope to get an interview was such a waste of time and money so I decided that it would be a better idea to spend money on travels rather than paying a rent and staying in a city I had been visiting for the last 45 days. Even though I really do love Melbourne, I didn’t come to Australia to spend all my savings to do nothing and be depressed. I came here to discover this beautiful country and I would like to settle down here but only if I can work in a company where I feel like my dreams could come true.
So after all that thinking, I published an add on Gumtree in the “Rideshare & Travel Partners” section to find a travel buddy to do the Great Ocean Road with me. This is something that I never though I would do before. Not in a million year! First, to have the idea of posting an add and second, going on the road with a total stranger. But there it was. After 30 replies to my add I met up with Camille for a cup of coffee (actually it was a delicious chai) and two days after we rented a car and went on the road together for 3 days of fun!
I was so glad I went through with publishing this add because it allowed me to really step out of my confort zone and to meet an amazing new friend along this journey. For the last 5 years I have been cutting off myself from the world, not wanted to go out, to see my friends nor to meet new people. I don’t know what happened to me but I guess I just needed that time off at some point. Now that I am in Australia I am glad that this is finally over and that I am doing things that I wouldn’t do anymore.
